TEENS AND CONSENT IN OREGON

In Oregon, teens 14 and older can agree to their own outpatient mental health care without a parent's permission (ORS 109.675). Oregon law also asks the therapist to involve parents before therapy ends, unless the parent declines or there is a clear clinical reason not to. We'll talk through what this means for your family at the first session.
